This is why any and all attempts to tar Dems with the brush of GOP corruption must be swatted away like a lame jump shot. The Rethugs are hoping against hope that, if they can con the people into viewing this as a bi-partisan scandal, incumbents on both sides will take hits and they'll come through the 2006 elections with their majority intact.

It's also imperative that Dems in Congress brand the GOP with a scarlet letter "A" (for Abramoff) at every opportunity. If they blow this one, then Fineman may be right after all.
