Elegy for America
Bush will speak
and we will listen.
Teeth will clench
and eyes will glisten.
Lies he'll tell
as yet unwritten.
Still some will swoon
By Bushspeak smitten.
Hearts that seek
both truth and light
long will ponder
'Murka's plight.
But no pow'r
no earthly might
serves to stop
the Prez tonight.
"Stay the course!
The course we'll stay!"
But which course
he will not say.
Some may wonder
who will pay
but no answer
comes today.
Glasses with
a rosy tint
wears our sightless
President.
If he hears
there's not a hint
Senseless, mindless
dumb as lint.
Pundits will
his speech embrace
with his kiss
still on their face.
Yet who mourns for
the human race
The lives by senseless
war erased?
Time will speak
and we must listen.
Worst of all
time will Bush christen.
In his knickers
he'll be pissin'
For some sins
there's no remission.
