Chris Matthews has been doing his damndest to downplay the DeLay and Abramoff scandals (or should I say 'scandal,' since they're inseparable). What's he hiding? Is it possible that he has been the recipient of--dare I suggest it? -- payola from the GOP slush fund? Now I know journalists and talking heads are people of unassailable moral character who would never compromise their integrity for filthy lucre, but might it just be possible?
