Paging all Philadelphia Area Progressives...

Free Press is having an event in Philly on January 18:

Free Press co-founders Robert W. McChesney and John Nichols will be speaking next week in Philadelphia about how the American media sell wars, spin elections, endanger democracy — and how to fight back.

The event is free and open to the public:

Wednesday, January 18
7:30 p.m.
University of Pennsylvania Bookstore
3601 Walnut Street
Philadelphia

McChesney and Nichols will be discussing their new book, Tragedy & Farce, which argues the ongoing media crisis isn’t due to incompetent journalists but corrupt policymaking that has allowed our system to become the private domain of massive media conglomerates. They’ll also talk about where the growing media reform movement is headed next.

Mark your calendars and be sure to forward this message to all of your friends so they don’t miss this special event.

We hope to see you there!
