SIC Lies...

Senate Intelligence Committee, that is. With a Rethug as chair, the use of "intelligence" in this context constitutes an oxymoron. Moron.

Senate Intelligence Chairman: Bush Can Spy - Yahoo! News
WASHINGTON - Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Pat Roberts said Friday the Bush administration's domestic spying is within the president's inherent power under the Constitution, and he rejected criticism that Congress was kept in the dark about it.

The program is "legal, necessary and reasonable," the Kansas Republican wrote in a 19-page letter, taking a particularly expansive view of the president's authority for the warrantless surveillance. "Congress, by statute, cannot extinguish a core constitutional authority of the president," Roberts wrote.
Here was great constitutional scholar (B.A. in Journalism) Pat Roberts on February 25, 1999: "I today voted to sustain both articles of impeachment of William J. Clinton. I so voted because I believe the President is guilty of obstructing justice and lying to a grand jury and because I believe these crimes are so serious they warrant his removal from office." BJs bad; violating the Bill of Rights good.

Hypocritical wanker. Roberts is Dubya's point man in keeping the presidential ass out of jail, having stonewalled attempts to investigate the assministration's twisting of pre-war intelligence. Now he reaches into his deep store of legal knowledge (up his ass) and extracts 19 pages of bullshit. Why does the GOP hate America?
