See ya, Specter

Specter sucks...just no other way to put it. The senior Senator from the Keystone State likes to play "moderate" when off-leash to protect his phony-baloney job but rolls over like a whipped whelp on command from his GOP masters. This is just one more example of how craven the man is: on an issue where the right is clearly wrong but has been threatening thunder and tsunamis if they don't get their way, mighty morphin' Arlen caves. He then has the chutzpah to insult Russ Feingold, one of the few Senators that still has a pair of cojones left, for calling him on it. The man is a slug.

Specter to Feingold: 'Good Riddance'

A Senate committee approved a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage yesterday, after a shouting match that ended when one Democrat strode out and the Republican chairman bid him "good riddance."

"I don't need to be lectured by you. You are no more a protector of the Constitution than am I," Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) shouted after Sen. Russell Feingold (D-Wis.) declared his opposition to the amendment, his affinity for the Constitution and his intention to leave the meeting.

"If you want to leave, good riddance," Specter finished.

"I've enjoyed your lecture, too, Mr. Chairman," replied Feingold, who is considering a run for president in 2008. "See ya."
