Snow Storm

The ever-dependable WH press corpse rolled over again regarding Tony Snow's first gaggle, focusing on his entertainment value vis-a-vis Scottie's ("Is it alive, or is it McClellan?"). Y'know, things like, "His eyes, how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry!" And, once again, we must rely on the voice crying in the wilderness that is the WaPo op-ed section--Froomkin--to stick a pin in the blowhard gasbags that infest the Press Office.

White House Briefing -- News on President George W Bush and the Bush Administration

A White House press corps smitten with the telegenic, emotional nature of Tony Snow's first formal briefing yesterday -- he laughed! he cried! -- largely neglected to mention a few salient aspects of his performance.

Like, for instance: His inconsistent responses; his sloppiness with certain facts; and his embarrassing verbal gaffe.
