Bush Sharpens His Attack on Democrats

CLAYTON, Mo., June 28 -- President Bush attacked congressional Democrats and the news media at a Republican fundraiser Wednesday night, accusing the opposition [actually, he said 'some of the opposition'] of "waving the white flag of surrender" in Iraq and declaring that there is "no excuse" for journalists to write about secret [so secret that they blabbed about it for years before the Times (and its LA namesake & the WSJ) wrote about it] intelligence programs.

Sharpening his rhetoric as the midterm congressional campaign season accelerates, Bush offered a robust [I don't think that word means what you think it means. More like 'bellicose', or 'strident', or 'bitchy', but not 'robust'. That would imply that there was substance to the defense, which there wasn't. Never has been. Never will be.] defense of his decision to invade Iraq even though, ultimately, no weapons of mass destruction were found, and drew standing ovations [from the hand-picked, Kool Aid drooling Rethug inebriates providing a backdrop for his bullshit] for his attacks on those who question his leadership [how dare they?] of the war or the fight against terrorists.
