The incredible denseness of being Republican
Aside from being thick as a brick, our GOP Congresscritters all suffer from the delusion that government is (in addition to being a giant trough to feed from) a great big game and that winning is "the only thing." Never does the thought enter into their fevered brains that maybe, just maybe, the important thing is serving their constituents and governing well. Nope, it's all about "getting this thing over the finish line." Hooray for our team; fuck the other guys. No matter that this legislation destroys our international reputation, exposes our troops to increased danger, and endorses unthinkably evil practices; we all have to square off at the line of scrimmage and blast though into the end zone for a TD. Then we'll spike the ball in the face of the Democrats without fear of a penalty from the refs--we own 'em all anyway.
