It's time...

It’s time, ladies and gentlemen.

It’s time we threw caution to the wind.

It’s time we—all of us (that means YOU, Congressional Democrats)—spoke the plain, unvarnished truth about Bush, Iraq, 9/11, and the Republican agenda to establish perpetual one-party rule in this country.

It’s time we demonstrated the courage of our convictions.

It’s time we risked something—anything—for the sake of our country’s future.

If we don’t…

If we don’t, I fear we’ll see the collapse of America.

First, we will collapse as a democracy as our freedoms are abrogated by the fear-mongers on the Right.

Second, we will collapse under the pressure of hostile others (which will include almost all other nations and peoples of this world) for our intransigence and belligerence.

Our false bravado won’t save us.

Our nukes won’t save us either.

We will descend into chaos as our economy crumbles and our brothers and sisters react, finally, to the unbearable financial burden placed on their shoulders by this government.

I do not cause this; I only foretell.

And how, you ask, can we avoid this fate?
