A GOP extremist group claimed responsibility for the bombing of a wedding in Makr-al-Deeb, near the town of Qaim on the Iraqi-Syrian border.

The bombing was said to be in retaliation for an assassination attempt on the GOP sect's former leader, George H. W. al-Bush.
