A surgeon general's report in 2006 that called on Americans to help tackle global health problems has been kept from the public by a Bush political appointee without any background or expertise in medicine or public health, chiefly because the report did not promote the administration's policy accomplishments, according to current and former public health officials.

From election theft to distorted intelligence to illegal war; from broken promises to doublespeak to outright lies; from 9/11 to Iraq to NOLA; from Gannongate to Shootergate to Attorneygate: how long a list of high crimes and misdemeanors is needed before Congress is finally compelled to act? From the outset, Bush and his administration have been occupied solely with rigging the machinery of government to ensure their continued power and to enrich themselves, their families, and their friends. At no time - in spite of all their rhetoric about "compassionate conservatism" - did they give so much as a rat's knackers for the American people. And they have repeatedly and with impunity violated their oaths to uphold and defend the Constitution. It's time.
