They can dish it out...

...but they can't take it. Bunch of WATB pussies, these Rethugs. How many times did indicted-but-strangely-not-yet-in-jail Majority Leader Tom "The Hammer" DeLay hold votes open for hours so thumbscrews could be applied to recalcitrant Republicans? And afterwards, did the GOP even offer a re-vote? No fucking way.

Worse yet, the GOP used Hammer-like tactics on this vote, rushing to strong-arm vulnerable members at the last second. And they have the audacity to call the Dems cheaters? Fuck 'em. And tell them to suck their thumbs and wonder by the banks of their own lagoon during recess.

Lawmakers Clash Ahead of Congressional Recess - washingtonpost.com

GOP lawmakers had moved to send the 2008 agriculture spending bill back to the House Appropriations Committee to add an explicit prohibition on illegal immigrants receiving food stamps. Democrats appeared to have gaveled that parliamentary vote shut and declared victory.

Democrats appeared to have won, but with seconds left, GOP leaders persuaded three Latino Republicans who had voted with the Democrats to change their votes. With two of the votes changed, Democrats gaveled the vote shut, 214-214, and declared they had won the motion. But the clerk had already recorded the third vote switch, and the public tally gave the GOP the win. In raucous protest, Republicans walked out of the House en masse, and on what should be the last day before the recess, the House remains paralyzed. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) has admitted a "mistake" and offered a re-vote, but Republicans are demanding their victorious tally stand.

"The majority has been forthright in apologizing for last night's unprecedented over-reach, and I take them at their word that the violation was unintentional. But instead of doing the right thing this morning and reinstating the vote's true outcome, Democrats seem content with the result they manufactured and are now simply trying to move on. I believe that to be unacceptable," said House Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.).

Rep. Patrick McHenry (N.C.), a Republican insurgent, was more blunt, calling Democrats "cheaters" on the House floor this morning and prompting a new eruption.
