Lynn Westmorelend (R - KKK) enters Lester Maddox territory

Georgia Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland used the racially-tinged term "uppity" to describe Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Thursday.

Westmoreland was discussing vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's speech with reporters outside the House chamber and was asked to compare her with Michelle Obama.

"Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity," Westmoreland said.

Asked to clarify that he used the word “uppity,” Westmoreland said, “Uppity, yeah.”

And from what little I've seen of Lynn Westmoreland, he am a member of a moronic-class of individual who can't even speak the fucking English language properly. And "uppity" isn't even a dog-whistle; it's well withing the range of non-bigot human hearing. At least "macaca" was a French slur.

We knew this was gonna get ugly, but this is Gorgon ugly. What next, axe handles at campaign rallies? The GOP is quickly moving into cross-burning territory.

PS: And the other GOP illiterates mentioned in the linked article are little better, both in their thinly-veiled racism and their unfamiliarity with basic English syntax.
