Missing the Point on Missing the Point

And they impeached a president on ginned-up charges related to a blow job. Now we're supposed to wink and nod at a president-cum-thug (cum pun unintended) who treats the Constitution like a roll of Charmin? What a bunch of soulless sycophants.

Media Matters - U.S. News ' Zuckerman: Charges that warrantless domestic spying is illegal "miss the point"
From Zuckerman's column in the February 27 issue of U.S. News World Report:

Critics, in both the Democratic and Republican parties, charge that such NSA operations are illegal without warrants. Such arguments miss the point. What is relevant is how to develop a system that empowers government to monitor potential threats in the most agile, timely way possible while reassuring the public that it is not abusing its powers.
And how, pray tell, would you define 'abusing its powers'? Wouldn't a flagrant disregard for the law of the land qualify? How about claiming that dictatorial powers are 'inherent' in the 'unitary executive'? Or is it abuse only when they fuck with you as opposed to someone else? Fucking whores.
