Are we not men?

No.

Hoyer: Bush deserves respect

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) took on a rare role yesterday as a defender of President Bush.

Hoyer came to the defense of the commander in chief after Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, where the president took a drubbing from comedian Stephen Colbert.

“I thought some of it was funny, but I think it got a little rough,” Hoyer said. “He is the president of the United States, and he deserves some respect.”

“I’m certainly not a defender of the administration,” Hoyer reassured stunned observers, but Colbert “crossed the line” with many jokes that were “in bad taste.”
Respect??!? For what? Stealing the presidency in 2000 with the help of Poppy's money and his cadre of powerful cronies? Getting caught with his pants down on 9/11 in spite of the numerous warnings from people with their hair on fire? Cynically exploiting 9/11 in order to push the PNAC agenda down America's throat? Serving less actual time in the White House than William Henry Harrison? Lying us into war with Iraq, botching the damn war once he got it started, and letting Osama slip through his fingers in the process? Bankrupting the Treasury? Selling the country to China? Driving the price of oil through the roof? Spying on Americans in violation of law? Stealing another election? Being the worst fucking president in US history?

The Dems need to strap on a pair.
