What's wrong with this article?

Everything. Stalemated by polarization? The damned GOP runs everything! They've been too busy, however, kissing Dubya's ass and pandering to the extremists in their base to get anything worthwhile accomplished. How much precious time has been wasted on non-issues like gay marriage and flag burning? And when the Rethugs tackle real policy issues, look out--they invariably take the wrong side. Think Medicare, Social Security, the estate tax, the minimum wage, immigration, congressional corruption...the list goes on and on. Yet blame must be spread evenly in the name of objectivity.

Connecticut May Be a 2008 Preview

American politics this year has been running on two divergent tracks. The first is intensified partisan combat in advance of a critical midterm election. The second is growing disaffection among many voters with a national capital seen as stalemated by polarization and distrust between the two political parties.

[snip]

The Lieberman-Lamont primary became the latest stage for the politics of anger that has dominated since President Bush took office after the disputed election of 2000. Lieberman hopes to make the general election a template for civility in politics and a return to some measure of bipartisan cooperation in Washington.
And how does the writer know what Lieberman hopes? And what, pray tell, is the cause of all this partisan anger and distrust? Could it be the unrelenting stream of viciousness, slander, and lies coming from the Right? How can you have rapprochement with the gang that brought you the voter purges of 2000 and 2004, election fraud, Swiftboating, and hallucinatory mushroom clouds? Give me a fucking break. Expecting Democrats to cooperate with the GOP is like expecting the victim to cooperate with her rapist.
