President Bush called on Congress today to pass new legislation to fund the war in Iraq and denounced lawmakers who say his strategy has failed.

In a statement he read in the White House Rose Garden after meeting with veterans and military families who support his Iraq war policy, Bush also urged Congress "to give our troops time to carry out our new strategy in Iraq," which he said has produced "important successes" lately.

"Yeah, we have got to recognize the important successes an' things we've did in Eye-rack since we ejaculated the surge thing. Y'see, you have got to give a loaf of bread time before it's stillborn. And the yeast is rising. So don't slam the door (I gotta remember to tell Dick that). And our new stategery is to do what we've been doing all along. Only not screw up this time. 'Cuz I say so, they won't. Trust me."
