Most Americans think we're headed over a cliff...

...but they still give the traffic cop directing them to their doom a friendly wave.

Americans Losing Confidence in Current Leadership -
Despite more than eight in 10 now saying the country is headed in the wrong direction and growing disaffection with the Republican Party, Sen. John McCain, the GOP's presumptive presidential nominee, remains competitive in a general election matchup with Sen. Barack Obama, the favorite for the Democratic nomination, and runs almost even with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
When will we grow the fuck up? When will we finally realize that actions (read: VOTES) have consequences, consequences that can affect the lives of millions, for good or ill? Ralph Nader once said there wasn't a dime's worth of difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. May he be eternally destined to explain to all those who have suffered and died as a result of GOP policy that 9 cents could have saved them, but he (and the American people) were too fucking cheap to part with a nickel and four Lincolns.
