On MSNBC’s Morning Joe this morning, Pat Buchanan argued that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) will not be able to aggressively attack the policy proposals of his opponent Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). “I don’t deny this kid is tough. … But he’s not a fighter,” Buchanan said. Newsweek’s Jon Meacham pushed back, calling Buchanan’s comments “condescending.” “This ‘kid’ is the Democratic nominee for President,” Meacham reminded Buchanan. Buchanan defended himself, saying that Obama is “an outstanding politician, a great natural athlete.”
